International Thespian Society
ITS is an internationally recognized honor society that celebrates the work of theater students around the world. Students in ITS plan events for the department, organize fundraisers, and engage in the school and local community.

ITS Duties
Coffeehouse events: Once per quarter, ITS board hosts a coffeehouse where students get together to perform music, scenes, standup comedy, or anything else performing arts related. We also provide beverages and snacks!
Fall and spring picnics: A fun way for students to get to know each other in the fall and celebrate a great year in the spring! We typically host a potluck for students and their families at a local park.
Holiday parties: ITS board hosts events and parties for the department as a whole, like our winter holiday party with a secret gift exchange and our costume party for Halloween.
Fundraisers: Around the time of our mainstage shows, we organize in-school fundraisers, like bake sales, to publicize our upcoming performances.
Community outreach: ITS members play a big role in community outreach and getting new students involved in the theater department. We help with events like freshmen preview night and theater department tours.
Induction and banquet: At the end of the year, new members are inducted into ITS. We celebrate the past season and welcome new students into our ITS community. ITS organizes the Year in Review performance, a comedic skit about the season.
Online events: Over the summer, ITS board plans virtual game nights and movie nights to keep the community connected even when we’re not in school.

With over 2.4 million students inducted worldwide, ITS is the only internationally recognized honor society that celebrates the achievement and hard work of theater students in both performance and production. TJTA is proud to be Troupe #4355, and accepts applications for new members from the department at the end of each season.
ITS Board
All current members are eligible to run for a position on the ITS Board for the following season. Elections take place at the end of each season. As a member of ITS Board, you are responsible for planning and overseeing events, creating signups for fundraisers, communicating with the rest of the ITS members, and leading department meetings. Information about running for ITS Board will be available near the end of the school year.
